DaVinci Resolve tools by Conner John

Tools that get Resolve
out of your way.

I make videos, and I make tools for the people who make videos. Scripts and shortcuts for DaVinci Resolve, built because I kept hitting the same walls in my own timelines.

The toolkit

Two ways to get Resolve out of your way. Grab the free keyboard layout, or go straight to real-time playback on heavy grades.

Grade Runner

Heavy grades that won't play back? Grade Runner is a one-file Resolve script that disables only the heavy nodes (noise reduction, grain, blurs, OFX) so your timeline plays in real time with the rest of your look intact. One click puts everything back before you render.

HOW THEY'RE MADE

Built in my own
timelines first.

Every tool here started as a wall I kept hitting on real projects. Grade Runner exists because heavy grades kept stalling my own playback. The keyboard layout is the one I've refined over years of editing. If it's on this page, I use it.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Four things people ask.

Does it change my grade?

It switches nodes off and back on — nothing else. Every change is recorded, and restore works only from that record. No settings inside a node are ever touched, and nothing is baked or flattened.

Will it make my final renders faster?

No. It restores your grade before you render, so your output has every node in it. This is a playback tool for while you work.

What if I render while nodes are disabled?

The render comes out without those nodes — same as rendering with anything switched off. Grade Runner doesn't intercept renders; it makes the state hard to miss: a live disabled count in the panel, and Prep for Delivery, which won't open the Deliver page until everything is back on. The rule from the manual: never render with nodes disabled.

Does it work with the free version of Resolve?

No. Resolve only exposes scripting in Studio.
